Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a Co-base alloy welding rod for surfacing with high quality at a high yield by mixing and kneading an org. binder with powder consisting of Co-base alloy powder adjusted to a specific compsn. as a main raw material and subjecting the mixture to extrusion molding and compacting by a vacuum sintering method. CONSTITUTION:The org. binder (5.0-15wt.% aq. soln. of methyl cellulose, etc.), is mixed and kneaded with the powder contg., by weight, 0.18-3.0% C, <=1.5% Si, <=2.0% Mn, 15.0-35.0% Cr and 2.0-10.0% 1 or 2 kinds of W and Mo, further contg. 1 or >=2 kinds among <=15% Ni, <=5.0% Nb, <=10% Ta, <=1.0% B, and <=4.0% Fe at need and consisting of the balance Co and inevitable impurities as the main raw material. The mixture is then extrusion-molded and is compacted by vacuum sintering, by which the high-quality Co-base alloy welding rod is inexpensively produced.
