Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a uniform charging state and to prevent subsequent coating defects by passing products having insulation surfaces already subjected to one time of coating through an ionization zone just before coating on a conveyor system at the time of coating these products. CONSTITUTION: An ordinary floor conveyor system 1 dives underside before the ionization zone 9 and a coating zone 10. For example, car bodies already subjected to one time of coating are taken over to a special floor conveyor 2. The special floor conveyor 2 consists of an endless plate conveyor or the like and plates are made of insulating materials, such as plastic. The individual car bodies are forcibly grounded via cables. The car bodies are subjected to adequate and uniform charging on their surfaces in the ionization zone 9 and, therefore, the electrostatic electrification conditions when the car bodies arrive at the coating zone 10 are made constant. Then, the coating defects by the differences in the charging states of the product surfaces are eliminated.
