Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a core easily with low cost, by moving a broach for machining a groove unilaterally along the axis of a tubular member and forming a slot groove. CONSTITUTION:At first, a tubular member 11 which is employed as material of a fixed side core for a DC magnet is formed. Then the tubular member 11 is secured onto a press base, and a broach 12 is moved unilaterally along the axis of the tubular member 11 and pulled out. Groove cutting section 13a of the broach 12 is formed by a tapered member having cutting teeth (a) enlarging gradually in axial direction from one side toward the other side on the circumference thereof. Consequently, no positioning nor welding is required for the core material 5 resulting in reduction of manufacturing process.
