Abstract

PURPOSE:To conduct a branch action and a return action quickly by constituting a reference rail between a branch point and a separation point through a movable rail and by reentering said movable rail through a branch command. CONSTITUTION:When a running gear 9 goes straight on through a branch apparatus, a movable rail 7 is at an equal height of the common rail level of a reference rail 1 and a branch rail 3. Accordingly, said running gear 9 is not affected by said branch rail 3 but goes straight on along the reference rail 1 because of inertia in the direction of rectilinear motion. On the other hand, when the running gear 9 is to move to the branch rail 3, a branch command signal is sent to an actuator 8 and the movable rail 7 reenters so that a difference in level is produced between the movable rail and the branch rail 3. Thus, a horizontal force in addition to a vertical force, is produced to guide the running gear 9 to the branch rail 3.
