Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the superconductive property and the mechanical strength by collecting all the segment elemental conductors containing all the elements which compose a specific superconductor in plural neighboring segment elemental conductors to make into a superconductive elemental wire, and then applying a wiredrawing process and a heat treatment to it. CONSTITUTION:All the elements to compose an A-B-Cu-O system (where A is an element of the periodic table IIIa group metal elements such as Y, La, and Ce, and B is an element of alkaline earth such as Ba and Sr) are contained in segment elemental conductors 1 and 2 made of plural copper alloys or metals neighboring each other, and the segment elemental conductors 1 and 2 are collected. Then a wiredrawing process is applied to make into a superconductive elemental wire 4, all the elements generate reactions at the connections where the segment elemental conductors 1 and 2 are closely contacted, and the oxide superconductor of a uniform crystaline structure is produced at the connections along the all superconductor wires in a continuous condition by applying a heat treatment. Moreover, metallic parts remain at the center of the segment elemental conductors along the oxide superconductor in the continuous condition in the longitudinal direction of the superconductive wire 5, and the mechanical strength of the superconductive wire 5 is improved. In such a way, a superconductive wire of a high mechanical strength can be manufactured.
