Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a pentasil-type crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite exhibiting a specific X-ray diffraction pattern and having excellent para-selectivity and catalytic activity.
CONSTITUTION: A silica source, an alumina source, an alkali source, a liquid aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon, an alcohol, tartaric acid and water are mixed together at ratios to satisfy the following molar ratios. SiO2/Al2 O3=5W500; H2O/SiO2=1W100; OH- (molar number of hydroxyl ion originated from the alkali source)/SiO2=0.01W100; TA/Al2O3=0.1W200; H2O/R=0.1W100; ROH/R=0.1W50 (TA, H2O, R and ROH are molar numbers of tartaric acid, water, hydrocarbon and alcohol, respectively). The obtained mixture is subjected to crystallization reaction of 80W250°C for 5hr W 30 days, washed with water, filtered and dried to obtain a pentasil-type crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite of formula (M is alkali or alkaline earth metal; n is atomic valence of M) exhibiting the X-ray diffraction pattern shown in the table.
