Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct automatically the dispersion in the delay of a packet arrived at first at the production of overflow by adding a delay decided to the packet arrived at first so as to realize the absorption of delay. CONSTITUTION:In receiving a packet from a reception line 16, a sequence number check circuit 11 informs number of skipped sequence number to a dummy packet generating circuit 12 and in case of voice, a dummy packet is written in a delay difference absorption buffer memory 10. Moreover, a sequence number check circuit 11 aborts the packet if the delay difference absorption buffer is occupied and no reception packet is stored. Further, the sequence number check circuit 11 detects the packet arrived at first after the call setting, informs it to a timer 13, starts the consecutive reproduction of the packet from the delay difference absorption buffer 10 after a time of 99%D. On the other hand, in case of underflow, the sequence number informing circuit 11 aborts the received packet immediately. Thus, the delay difference absorbing function is realized.
