Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply select a key word candidate even by a general purpose small scale managing system by defining decomposing a Japanese sentence by defining a KANJI (Chinese character) and a KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) to be a key, discriminating an idiom, recording an using frequency and selecting an important idiom. CONSTITUTION:The Japanese sentence 11 represented by a character code is analyzed for respective character codes from a relation to a code number and the idiom data of a KANJI string and a KATAKANA string is extracted by decoded word extracting means 12. For instance, when as the character code, JIS-C6226 is used, the character code representing the KANJI is after 3021 H and the character code indicating the KATAKANA is from 2521 H to 2576 H. Accordingly, idiom data consisting only of the part of the KANJI or the part of the KATAKANA can be simply discriminated without requiring the assistance of a complicate dictionary. The obtained idiom data is registered by an idiom data registering means 13 and the using frequency is recorded by an using frequency recording means 14. An important idiom selecting means 15 selects the idiom high in the frequency as the important idiom and defines it to be the key word candidate.
