Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and to reduce the rise of residual potential by rendering the As content of an electric charge transfer layer made of amorphous arsenic selenide smaller than charge generating layer made of amorphous arsenic selenide and incorporating halogen in the charge transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:The second layer for generating charge is formed on the first layer for transferring the charge generated at the time of exposure and both layers are made of an amorphous arsenic selenide (As2Se3) or the arsenic selenide alloy near in composition to this. The As content of the first layer is 30-33.5wt.% and is made smaller than that of the second layer, and halogen is contained in the first layer in an amount of 1-10,000ppm, thus permitting light fatigue to be reduced and sensitivity to be enhanced.
