Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove ununiform Zn oxide formed on the plated sides of a steel sheet which is Zn or Zn alloy electroplated on both sides and to improve the chemical treatability of the plated sides by washing the plated steel sheet with an aq. soln. of an acid such as H2SO4 or HCl under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:Both sides of a steel sheet is subjected to Zn or Zn alloy electroplating. An aq. soln. of H2SO4, HCl or H3PO4 having 5-10% concn. is prepd. The plated steel sheet is washed with the aq. acid soln. for 320sec.
