Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of the stud welding and to stabilize the stud welding by fixing a stud material and generating an arc and after the lapse of the set time, releasing the fixing and regulating the pressing-in force and pressing-in speed to perform the welding. CONSTITUTION:A clamp mechanism 3 of the stud material 1 is provided and a movable carriage 4 which is moved horizontally by an air cylinder 8 and fixed by an air cylinder 15 is arranged. The stud 1 is pressed upon the base metal 12 by the cylinder 8 and fixed thereon by the cylinder 15 and the arc is generated. Next, after the lapse of the set time, the fixing of the stud 1 by the cylinder 15 is released and the stud 1 is subjected to stud welding by the set optimum pressing-in force and pressing in speed. Since a first stud pulling-up stage is eliminated and the stud 1 is not moved at the time of generating the arc, the welding accuracy is improved and the welding work is stabilized.
