Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a novel antitumor polypeptide, by forming a DNA coding a physiologically active polypeptide containing a specific amino acid sequence or a polypeptide having Met bonded to the amino terminal of the above polypeptide. CONSTITUTION:A recombinant plasmid containing a DNA region coding a specific physiologically active polypeptide or a polypeptide having Met bonded to the amino terminal of the above polypeptide is prepared. A recombinant bacterial cell transformed with the recombinant plasmid is cultured to effect the formation and accumulation of a novel physiologically active polypeptide in the cultured product. The physiologically active polypeptide is separated from the obtained cultured product. An excellent pharmaceutical composition having antitumor activity can be produced by the use of the polypeptide.
