Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable an inter-multipoint optical amplification repeating system by using a bidirectional light transmission system capable of making inter- multipoint communication by frequency (or wavelength) assignment. CONSTITUTION:The light signal 2-1 from the point A is coupled to the light signal 2-2 from the point B by an optical coupler 2-3. One of the signal is entered to an optical amplifier 2-4 by an optical demultiplexer 2-7 and is amplified to the signal 2-5 which propagates to the point C. Another signal passes an optical isolator 2-8 and is coupled to the light signal 2-6 from the point C by an optical coupler 2-9. This signal enters the amplifier 2-4, by which the signal is amplified. The signal is further demultiplexed by the coupler 2-3 and is propagated to the point A and the point B. The assigned frequencies (or wavelengths) can be received without mixing at the respective points A, B, C by optical filters or light frequency tuning techniques. The communication between A and C, B and C and A and B is thereby executed.
