Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Al foil having no generation of pinholes, breaks, buckling, etc., by forming said foil with Al contg. specific amt. of Fe and in which Si amt. as the impurity is regulated and regulating the generation condition of intergranular deposits to the optimum. CONSTITUTION:The Al foil is formed with Al contg. 0.5-2.5% Fe or furthermore contg. 0.003-0.05% Ti with <0.35% Si as the impurity and in which the ratio of the crystal length at the part where the intergranular deposits are generated to the total crystal length is regulated to <=1/10. Said Al foil is easy to soften by working and has no generation of pinholes, breaks, wrinkles, etc., at the time of foil rolling. The Al foil having the structure contg. said intergranular deposits is obtd. by hot rolling the Al ingot having said compsn. and thereafter subjecting it to intermediate annealing at least one time at the temp. lower than the recrystallization temp. during the cold rolling stage.
