Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the mite killing effect by giving a plurality of slit-form steam jets an angle relative to the moving direction, and thereby prolonging the steam exposure time to mites living in a carpet. CONSTITUTION: By a water supply pump 36, water is supplied to the first evaporating chamber 29 whose temp. is regulated by a temp. regulator 31 to the optimum temp. for steam generation, and is evaporated in the chamber 29 and spouted to the second evaporating chamber 30 through a hole 28. Within the second chamber 30, the spouted steam is further heated and expanded, and is jetted to the outside air from a plurality of slit-form steam jets 32. Because the jets 32 are formed at a nozzle 35 with the angle θ relative to the moving direction, the steam exposure time is made longer than is conventional arrangement where one row of steam jets are provided with the same slit width (θ=0).
