Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, containing a gamma-linolenic acid- containing fat and oil extracted from fungal cells of the genus Mortierella, annually producible and available at a low cost and having excellent skin touch and simultaneously producing various effects originating from the gamma-linolenic acid. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic or dermal composition obtained by containing a gamma-linolenic acid-containing fat and oil extracted from cells of fungi which are molds belonging to the genus Mortierella. This composition can be applied in the form of a water-in-oil type or oil-in-water type emulsion system, e.g. milky lotion, lotion, shampoo or shaving foam, or more concentrated emulsion system, e.g. facial pack. In this case, the fat and oil of the fungal cells can be contained in an amount of 1-20wt.%. The above-mentioned composition may consists essentially of an oily phase or aqueous phase and is applicable in the form of a solid, e.g. makeup product. In this case the composition can be contained in amount of about 1-30wt%.
