Abstract

1,158,234. Skin lotions. B. ROHRBACH. 18 Oct., 1966 [18 Oct., 1965; 3 Oct., 1966], No. 46610/66. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C3] Liquid preparations for use as skin lotions, especially for treatment of the skin prior to electric shaving and also used for cleaning electric shavers, comprise at least 95% by weight of a commercially pure alkanol having a boiling point below 120‹C., up to 2.5% by weight of an alcohol miscible, fluid organopolysiloxane effective to produce a lubricant effect when applied to the skin prior to shaving and a cosmetically effective amount of a perfume. Suitably the alkanol is ethanol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol or 1-methylpropanol, the organopolysiloxane is a phenylmethyl siloxane and the perfume is an essential oil or an azulene derivative such as blue S- guaiazulene.
