Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the utility and operability of the titled equipment and to make the size of said equipment small by adopting the constitution such that mode conversion such as magnification or contraction is implemented electrically. CONSTITUTION:Picture data converted into an electric signal by a photoelectric conversion section 2 is inputted to an A/D converter 3. A taking-in timing generating circuit 11 generates a taking-in timing signal in response to a magnification mode, contraction mode or standard mode set by an operation section 14 and the A/D converter 3 is controlled by the timing signal. The A/D converter 3 applies A/D conversion to the input picture data in the timing in response to each mode, taking it in a memory 4. The picture data stored in the memory 4 is sent to a telephone line 19 via a modulation section 15. Thus, since the adjustment of the picture mode such as magnification or contraction is realized without replacing or adjusting the optical system, the utility and operability are improved.
