Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate a flicker on an active type liquid crystal display device which display an image by interlaced scanning by composing a scanning line of two gate lines and dividing source lines into odd and even lines. CONSTITUTION: A TFT liquid crystal cell consists of a TFT 1, a capacitor 2, and a common counter electrode 3 and source line signals are supplied from an odd line source driver 4 to odd source lines S1, S3, S5, and S7 according to video signals Vro, Vgo, and Vbo corresponding to R, G, and B of odd-field video and a clock signal (q) for transfer. An even line source driver 5 also outputs source line signals to even source lines S2, S4, S6, and S8 according to video signals Vre, Vge, and Vbe and a clock signal (r). Two adjacent gate lines are connected in a pair and discriminated as odd and even gate lines G1 and G2. Consequently, even when the number of effective vertical scanning lines is 480, the clock frequency need not be increased and variance can be eliminated.
