Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct the phase difference in a laser beam by a phase adjuster and to uniform the laser beam, and to improve the convergency of a laser device by providing the phase shifter in the path of the laser beam outputted by the resonator of a laser device. CONSTITUTION:A laser medium 3 is excited by electric discharge between electrodes 5 and 6 of the laser device to cause oscillation in the resonator consisting of a total reflecting mirror 1 and a partial reflecting mirror 2, thereby emitting the laser beam 7. The phase adjuster 8 is arranged on the path of this laser beam 7 and the phase of the laser beam 7 is inverted partially by this phase adjuster 8. This phase adjuster 8 consists of an upper reflecting surface 8a and a lower reflecting surface 8b and the laser beam 7 is shifted in phase partially by 180 deg. through an X-directional step to adjust the optical path difference between beams passing reflecting surfaces 8a and 8b to 1/2 wavelength. Thus the phase difference is corrected and uniformed to output the high-output laser beam with good convergency.
