Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve transmission performance by surrounding the outer peripheral edge of a piezoelectric plate which has electrodes formed on and under it and is polarized in its thickness direction with a rigid frame body at an interval, charging an elastic adhesive in the interval, and coupling the piezoelectric plate with the frame body in one body.
CONSTITUTION: The rectangular rigid frame body 10 which is nearly as thick as the piezoelectric plate 1 is fitted around the outer peripheral edge of the piezoelectric plate 1 at the rectangular interval 11. Said rectangular rigid frame body 10 uses a material which has high rigidity (large modulus of longitudinal elasticity) such as metal and plastic. Then the elastic adhesive 12 is molded out of elastic epoxy resin, silicone rubber, etc., around the rigid frame body 10 including the peripheral edge of the piezoelectric plate 1 and said material is charged in this gap 11. Consequently, the piezoelectric plate 1 and rigid frame body 10 are coupled in one body. The piezoelectric transmitting and receiving sheet of this constitution is obtained and even pressure p2 applied from the peripheral edge is blocked by the rigid frame body 10 and does not extend to the outer peripheral edge of the piezoelectric plate 1.
