Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a heater having long life, by constituting the heater of the ceramic substrate mounted to a seal bar, a printed electric resistor and a ceramic insulating protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A molding jaw 21 sealing a vertical tubular container material 11 to divide the same has a pair of seal bars 24, 25 and the heater 26 mounted to at least one of said seal bars. The heater 26 consists of the ceramic substrate 31 mounted to the seal bar 24, the electric resistor 32 printed on the surface of the substrate 31 in a required pattern and the ceramic insulating protective layer 33 applied to the surface of the substrate 31 so as to cover the electric resistor 32. The electric resistor 32 has high temp. coefficient and becomes high in its resistance value as the temp. of the resistor 32 rises to reduce the current flowing to the resistor and becomes a saturated state at predetermined temp. When sealing operation is performed in this state, the temp. of the electric resistor 32 falls and the resistance value becomes low while a current increases to increase the generation quantity of heat and the falling in temp. is suppressed.
