CONSTITUTION:When a packet is sent from a calling-side terminal equipment 9a, a node device 6a connected between a LAN system, to which the terminal equipment 9a is connected, and a packet exchanging network 3 sends the packet to the packet exchanging network 3 after adding basic network information to the packet. Then another node device 6b connected between the LAN system, to which a called-side terminal equipment 9b is connected, and the packet exchanging network 3 performs packet transmission by a hierarchical routing system which is used for transmitting information to the called-side terminal equipment 6b in accordance with the added basic network information. Therefore, the calling-side terminal equipment 9a can transmit the packet when the equipment 9a adds its own number and the number of the called-side terminal equipment 9b only and, as a result, troublesome addressing can be made simpler.
