Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the solar light/energy collecting efficiency and to simplify the structure of a sun tracking device by making use of the correlation between the southing altitude of the sun and its corresponding highest, and lowest temperatures of the daytime so that the angle of elevation of a sun aiming device can be kept approximately coincident with the southing altitude throughout the year. CONSTITUTION:A temperature-sensitive element 2 whose free end has the temperature- sensitive displacement is added to a sun tracking device 1. An object 4 to be rotated is engaged with a ratchet pawl 3 provided on the free end of the element 2 and a sun aiming device 5 is set in one body with the object 4. The element 2 uses a bimetal and the object 4 has a rotary displacement for each replacement of the displacement value of the element 2. At the same time, the engaging direction of the pawl 3 set at the free end position of the element 2 can be reversed by a stopper 6. Then the correlation between the southing altitude of the sun and its corresponding highest and lowest temperatures is utilized so that the angle of elevation of the device 1 can be kept approximately coincident with the southing altitude of the sun throughout the year. Thus it is possible to improve the solar light/energy collecting efficiency and to simplify the structure of the device 1.
