Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the product quality of a solid fuel, to reduce a mill capacity and to reduce operation cost, by preparatorily drying a solid fuel having high water-content in a material tube-type tube drier and supplying the predried fuel to a mill. CONSTITUTION:A solid fuel having relatively high water-content and discharged from a solid fuel storage yard is introduced into a material tube-type tube drier 4 having a number of tubes 6 disposed in an inclined rotary cylinder 5 in axial direction. The solid fuel is passed through the tubes 6 and a heating medium is passed along the outer wall of the tube to effect indirect heating of the solid fuel. After adjusting the water-content of the solid fuel to <=6wt.%, the solid fuel is supplied to a hot-gas drying mill 1 to effect the drying and pulverization of the solid fuel.
