Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact booster, by arranging a power piston and a slidable selector valve in parallel with each other, by providing an input piston concentric with the power piston, and by associating these pistons through the intermediary of a lever being abutted at one end with the slidable selector valve and bifurcated at the other end so as to engage with the pistons through cutouts. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder bore 39 and a valve hole 104 are formed in parallel with each other in a cylinder housing 32. A power piston 34 as an output section of a hydraulic booster is disposed in the cylinder bore 39, and a slidable selector valve 46 as an operation control section is disposed in the valve hole 104. One end of the power piston 34 is projected from the housing 32 slidably in a liquid- tight manner, and an input piston 36 connected to a pedal rod is disposed in the power piston 34, concentrically with the latter. A lever 64 having one end making contact with the slidable selector valve 46 and bifurcated the other end engaging with the pistons through cutouts 72, 73, connects the parts so as to constitute a boost servo-mechanism. With this arrangement the overall longitudinal length is decreased to obtain a compact hydraulic power boost mechanism.
