両側に設けられた一対の透明基板と、該一対の透
明基板の内端面上に形成された電極層と、該一対

間に形成された内部空間に保持された液晶層とを
具備する液晶セルと、上記透明基板の一面に配置
された反射鏡とからなる液晶表示装置において、 上記液晶層内には固体粒子が分散保持され固体
粒子により所定の液晶層部分が他の液晶層部分と
散乱を異にする構成としたことを特徴とする液晶
表示装置。 (2) 固体粒子は、液晶層の厚さを規定する層内
