Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an extremely compact composite transmission line by providing a superconductive line which extends substantially parallel with a core over the whole length of an optical fiber that encloses the core and has a refractive index lower than the core. CONSTITUTION:A light/electricity composite transmission line is formed by burying, one for each, a core 10 and a superconductive line 20 inside one clad 30. The clad 30 has a refractive index lower than that of the core 10 and also functions as an insulation cover for the superconductive line 20 in addition to the essential function of the clad. And a protective cover by high polymer resin, etc., is provided at further outside of this light/electricity compound transmission line. Further, as the core 10 and the clad 10, SiO2 or substance made by adding Ge, P, Al, F, etc., to SiO2 is used. In this way, an extremely compact composite transmission line can be made.
