Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a regenerative signal of high fidelity without necessitating complicated operation by changing only a slice level while keeping the number of bits for quantization as it is. CONSTITUTION:The slice level for quantizing the signal in case of storing the signal is not fixed, but the said level is distributed uniformly and spatially as changing it temporarily slowly. Thus, because the slice level for the signal quantization is changed, the phase of a higher harmonic generated by the quantization is changed, and further, because the slice level is distributed uniformly and spatially, the phase of the higher harmonic is distributed uniformly. Thus, a spurious component disappears on a frequency axis, and the signal having the spectrum of the higher fidelity to the spectrum of the original signal is regenerated.
