Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain superior pressure fixability and image characteristics while restraining occurrence of free shells by allowing the surfaces of solid core particles containing a pressure-fixable component to adsorb fine droplets composed of a polymerizable monomer and polymerizing the monomer. CONSTITUTION:The polymerizable monomer is adsorbed in a state of fine droplets to the surfaces of the solid core particles containing the pressure-fixable component and the adsorbed monomer is polymerized. As a result, force acting between the core material and the monomer, such as oleophilicness or affinity based on oleophilicness, is extremely effectively utilized and the monomer droplets can be effectively adsorbed in the core particles, thus permitting occurrence of free shells to be restrained, image characteristics to be enhanced, the core particles to be coated with a proper amount of the monomer, and the encapsulated toner good in fixing characteristics to be obtained.
