Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a qualified motion pointer, by keeping an amplifier from saturation by an input signal with an amplification factor thereof made variable while a monitor signal is obtained corresponding to hourly changes in the intensity of rubbing vibration. CONSTITUTION:When a pulse height value of a rubbing vibration in an intermediate vibration signal 6a exceeds specified upper and lower limit values H and L, an amplification factor of an amplifier 4 is altered to limit the value of the signal 6a between H and L, hence reducing the frequency of saturating an amplifier 11. The intensity of the rubbing vibration in a signal 8a generated as a result of the alternation of the amplification factor as mentioned above is converted with a rubbing intensity computing section 18 into a rubbing intensity signal 17a as signal having a value the very proportional to the intensity of a rubbing vibration 100a. Thus, a qualified motion pointer for a rotary machine 1 can be obtained in a wide range of the intensity of the rubbing vibration 100a by a monitor signal 19a.
