Abstract
PURPOSE:To form easily an end coil portion at the end-edge portion of a compression coil spring by embedding and heating and transforming in ceramic powder and in a state in which only this end coil portion protrudes, the compression coil spring equipped with a pinching material for indirect holding, at a space between oil wires adjacent to an end coil portion forming portion at the end-edge portion. CONSTITUTION:After the formation of a ceramic material in a wire shape into a coil shape, a compression coil spring 10 is made by being sintered or semi-sintered. A pinching material for space holding 12 is equipped at a space between coil wires adjacent to an end coil portion forming portion at the end- edge portion of the coil spring 10. Next, the compression coil spring 10 equipped with this pinching material 12 is embedded in a state in which only this end coil portion protrudes, in a heat-proof container 14 filled with prescribed ceramic powder 18, and is heated. Under this heating condition, a load of a predetermined size is operated against the end coil portion forming portion by means of a weight 20 in the direction of compression, and transformation is done, and the end coil portion is formed at this end-edge portion.
