Abstract

PURPOSE:To temporarily stick abrasive grains to a bed metal reliably and prevent the abrasive grains from dropping off during production by radiating a laser beam through the abrasive grains. CONSTITUTION:Abrasive grains 14 such as diamond or CBN are distributed on a bed metal 10 by an abrasive grain feeding device 12 in the preset distribution state. A laser beam emitted from a laser oscillator 16 is condensed by a condenser lens 18 and radiated on the abrasive grains 14 in sequence. The radiated laser beam passes the abrasive grains 14 and heats the contact portions between the bed metal 10 and the abrasive grains 14 and melts the bed metal 10 and deposits (temporarily sticks) the abrasive grains to the surface of the bed metal 10. This bed metal 10 is then put in a plating tank to be applied with electrodeposition plating, thus the abrasive grains 14 are fixed to the bed metal 10 by a deposit 20 formed on the surface of the bed metal 10.
