Abstract
PURPOSE: To unnecessitate the adjustment of an intermediate position for positioning a work cloth in spite of the change of a cloth thickness by changing-over the state of a driving device into the first to third ones by means of a change-over means and abutting a presser foot on the work cloth by means of self weight when the driving device comes to be the third state. CONSTITUTION: A feeding stand 4 is moved in a feeding direction which is crossed with the vertical movement axial line of a needle 2, the presser foot 6 is arranged in the feeding stand 4 so as to be able to elevate/lower as against the work cloth arranged on a bed 3 and seams are formed on the work cloth by feeding in the feeding direction while pressurizing the work cloth through the use of the presser foot 6. Besides, the first state for energizing the presser foot 6 in an elevating direction, the second one for energizing the presser foot in the lowering direction and the third one for releasing the presser foot without energizing it in the both directions can be set in the driving means 11 arranged in the feeding stand 4. Then the change-over means consisting of an electromagnetic valve 15 and a foot pedal 20 or the like changes-over the first to third states of the device 11. As a result, the adjustment of the intermediate position for positioning the work cloth is not required in spite of change in the cloth thickness.
