Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorizing material suitable for deodorizing a malodorous substance, especially, a tobacco tar smell, by supporting an aqueous cyclodextrin solution by a porous body. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of cyclodextrin, wherein 6-8 glucose molecules are bonded in a ring form, obtained by acting enzyme on starch is supported by a porous body to obtain a deodorizing material excellent in the lasting property of deodorizing action. At this time, as the aqueous cyclodextrin solution, an aqueous solution containing about 0.5-23wt.% of a commercial cyclodextrin crystal can be used but about 5-100pts.wt. of a water absorbable substance (e.g.; glycerine) is pref. used per 100pts.wt. of said aqueous solution. As the porous body, SiO2 microporous beads or nonwoven fabric is pref. used. Further, pref., by supporting a mixture of the aqueous cyclodextrin solution and other liquid deodorant by the porous body, deodorizing effect can be enhanced still more.
