Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance thermal efficiency of a refrigeration cycle by detecting the temperature and pressure of a refrigerant in a reheater at the time of defrost operation, inputting a signal to a controller and controlling the r.p.m. of a fan and the opening of a flow control valve thereby controlling the condensation temperature. CONSTITUTION: In order to melt frost produced in an outdoor heat exchanger 3 at the time of heating operation, a reverse cycle operation is performed using the heat exchanger 3 as a condenser. A bypass valve 8 is closed at that time and high temperature refrigerant liquid flows entirely into a reheater 7 and heats up the air being blown into a room. A controller 13 controls the condensation temperature by controlling the r.p.m. of a fan 10 and the quantity of refrigerant being fed to an indoor heat exchanger 4 through a pressure reducing unit 6 is controlled by controlling the opening of a flow control valve 9 through a controller 14. Both controllers 13, 14 are controlled by a controller 11 based on the detection signal of temperature and pressure in the reheater 7 and the air being blown into a room is controlled to an appropriate temperature. Frost can be removed efficiently by the heat of a refrigeration cycle itself without using a heater.
