Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to provide rarefied fuel combustion with excessive air and lower the level of NOx formation by supplying a mixture gas of the fuel and air into a combustion chamber which is divided into a flame holding body on the upstream side and a radiation conversion body on the downstream side through the flame holding body. CONSTITUTION:A rarefied mixture gas supplied from a pipe 9 passes through a mixture gas heating body 8 which is provided in a combustion chamber 4 and jetted out into the inside of a mixture gas supply chamber 5 from a nozzle 10 through a pipe 11. The gas that is jetted out collides with a flame holding body 2 to have its speed reduced and to be divided and supplied to the combustion chamber 4. At this time, if the mixture gas is ignited, it forms a flame on the downstream side from a flame holding body 2 and ascends as it heats the mixture gas heating body 8 and passes through a radiation conversion body 3 and is blown out from a discharge gas blow-out port 7 to be mixed with the air in the room, etc., and supplied as a gas for room heating to the inside of a room. At this time the radiation conversion body 3 receives a large quantity of the heat and its upstream side is heated higher to emit strong radiation heat to the combustion room and it also heats the heating body 8 from the downstream side. With this arrangement it is possible to have a much extended lower limit for rarefaction of the fuel gas and a reduction of NOx and lower CO formation accompanying the extension.
