Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to construct springs in a highly simple manner for use in a governor by obtaining such a device as to generate a force resistant to the position of a tension lever based on variation in the number of rotation. CONSTITUTION: When the number of rotation increases, the inner pressure in a suction chamber increases and therefore, a piston 21 within a follow-up cylinder 22 moves slowly by the action of throttles 36, 37 towards inner end surface side 32. Thereby, a modification spring 20 connected to a tension lever 13 becomes tense and the increased force by the number of rotation of an adjusting sleeve of a rotation-number signal generator 8 is compensated. Hence, when the number of rotation is rapidly varied, the inner pressure of the suction chamber is rapidly varied; however, the piston 21 rarely moves within the follow-up cylinder 22 by the action of the throttles 36, 37. Accordingly, as only the modification spring 20 and a governor spring 25 act on the tension lever 13, the position of a control sleeve 3 can be controlled without generating an impactive oscillation. Thus, improvement in dynamic behaviors of the governor can be performed in such a simple construction.
