Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of a crown and to improve a mill rigidity by disposing an integral sleeve on an integral arbor through plural rolling bearings and by changing the genelating line of the sleeve continuously by controlling the rotating of the arbor. CONSTITUTION:The sleeve 1 is supported rotatably on the arbor 2 through the rolling bearings 3, 4, 5. The rolling bearing 3 is a cylindrical roller bearing, the rolling bearing 4 is a ball bearing and each bearing supports a radial load and axial load respectively. Further, the bearings 5 of roll neck bearing parts are large diameter low speed roller bearings. In this state, an outer surface of the arbor 2 are continuously changed to longitudinally a symmetrical and nearly parabolic shape by selecting ratios of major axis length to minor one of ellipses and axial arrangements. In this way, the crown control of the surface of the sleeve 1 is efficiently facilitated. Because the roll neck part is made into larger diameter, the mill rigidity is improved.
