Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it easy to form a rust-preventive layer by applying a petrol- resistant epoxy resin-type adhesive containing fine particles of specific metals on the inner surfaces of petrol tank made of metal, and applying thereon a petrol-resistant epoxy resin-type adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A coating composition consisting of fine particles composed of zinc particles and nickel particles and a petrol-resistant epoxy resin-type adhesive is applied on the inner surfaces of a petrol tank made of metal to form a first rust-preventive layer. Subsequently, on this first rust-preventive layer is applied a coating fluid, i.e., a petrol-resistant epoxy resin-type adhesive, to form a second rust-preventive layer. In the above-mentioned coating composition, the fine particles are preferably composed of 60-90wt.% zinc particles and 10-40wt.% nickel particles. Further, it is preferable that the thicknesses of the first and the second rust-preventive layers be 10-60mum each.
