Abstract
PURPOSE:To open and close a valve and increase the response speed by connecting a piezoelectric element with a valve retainer and applying the voltage to the piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:Voltage difference is set between an electrode 2 side and an electrode 3 side, then a piezoelectric element 1 is warped upward when the voltage is applied. At that time, voltage difference is set between an electrode 2' side and an electrode 3' side of a piezoelectric element 5 connected respectively with a valve retainer, then the piezoelectric element 5 is warped downward when the voltage is applied, and the valve retainer 4 comes downward while being in slide contact with a nozzle section 6. A large space, therefore, is generated between a valve 1 warped upward and the valve retainer 4, and pressurized fluid is passed through the nozzle and sprayed. In order to stop the spraying of the fluid, the voltage applied to the electrode of the valve 1 is reduced down to zero, or the valve 1 is moved downward by applying the voltage in the reverse direction and simultaneously the voltage applied to the piezoelectric element 5 connected with the valve retainer 4 is reduced down to zero or the voltage in the reverse direction is applied. A device can be made compact and of light weight in this manner.
