Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance triboelectrifiability of the surface of a toner by mixing fine particles composed essentially of an electric charge controller and an offset preventive agent with colored base particles composed of a thermoplastic resin and a colorant, and fast attaching plural fine particles to the surface of the colored particles by applying compression and friction forces to each obtained mixed particle. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic toner is obtained by heat melting and kneading a mixture of a thermoplastic resin and a colorant, pulverizing it to form the colored base particles, preferably having a softening point of 60-200 deg.C, mixing the fine particles composed essentially of the charge controller and the offset preventive agent with the colored base particles, applying compression and friction forces to the obtained mixture to fast attach the plural fine particles to the surface of each colored base particle, thus permitting the triboelectrifiability of the surface of the toner to be enhanced.
