Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce cooling water pressure loss of a reactor core inlet part without drastic modification of reactor structure elements and drastic increase of equipment cost by setting dimensions and position of opening, which is a fuel support fitting cooling water passage inlet on the upper part of a control rod guide pipe, in a fixed condition. CONSTITUTION:Vertical direction length of opening 30 which is an inlet of a fuel support fitting cooling water passage 5 of a control rod guide pipe 16 reaches at least up to the lower surface of a core plate 3 from the position at which a fuel support fitting 15 is inscribed on the control rod guide pipe 16 and its width is at least equal to the hole diameter of perforated seat of the fuel support fitting 15. The circumferential position of the fuel rod guide pipe 16 of the opening 30 indicates the position at which the hole of the perforated seat includes the projected position on the pipe wall of the control rod guide pipe 16 from the center side of the fuel support fitting 15. Therefore, the curvature of the fuel support fitting cooling water passage 5 is moderate, pressure loss of the cooling water can be lessened and the reactor core flow can be increased without enlarging pump capacity.
