Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an eddy generating body at a low manufacturing cost with the saving of working time, by bending at least one rectangular metal plate to join both sides thereof so that a hollow column-like body is formed with the shape of an isosceles triangle or isosceles trapezoid. CONSTITUTION:A metal plate 6 cut in a rectangle is bent to make a column with the shape of an isosceles triangle having an apex angle A of 40 deg. and a base angle B of 70 deg.. The both sides of the metal plate 6 bent are joined by welding to ensure watertightness so that a hollow column-like body is formed. Then, a seal plate 7 made of the same material as the metal plate 6 and cut out in an isosceles triangle is joined by welding at one open end of the hollow column-like body 1 thus formed to complete a hollow column-like body 1 with one end thereof sealed and the other end thereof 1 open. Then, the other open end of the hollow column-like body 1 is made to abut against a stepped hole 4a of a flange 4 and the butted part is welded to make a rigid eddy generating body. Thus, an eddy generating body can be produced at a lower cost with the saving of working time.
