Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve angular velocity detection accuracy by giving the same polarity to four driving piezoelectric elements provided to a vibrator and providing a support rod with detecting piezoelectric elements for detecting Corioli's force. CONSTITUTION:When AC voltages having the same polarity are applied to the four driving piezoelectric elements 5, the vibrator 2 vibrates in its breadthwise (arrow (a)) direction to deform by deflection in right-left and up-down symmetrical mode when an H shape is viewed from the front. When an angular velocity by rotation in a plane orthogonal to the cylinder center of a casing 4 is added to this vibration gyro 10, the vibrator 2 generates Corioli's forces in its thickness direction (arrow (b)) direction, but this forces are in mutually opposite directions between both breadthwise side parts of the H shape.
