Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled rubber composition capable of giving automobile tires of outstanding road-gripping capability and wear resistance, by blending each specific high-bonded styrene copolymer rubber of high molecular weight and low-bonded styrene copolymer rubber of low molecular weight in specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective rubber composition with a Mooney viscosity of >=30, pref. 40-150, can be obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. of a styrene- diene copolymer rubber with 20-65(pref. 30-50)wt.% of bonded styrene and Mooney viscosity of 70-200(pref. 100-200) and (B) 10-120(pref. 20-100)pts.wt. of a second styrene-diene copolymer rubber with <50(pref. 10-40)wt.% of bonded styrene and weight-average molecular weight of 5000-100,000(pref. 10,000-70,000). The amount of the bonded styrene in the component B is less than that for the component A, the difference being pref. >=10wt.%.
