Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a rubber compsn. having excellent processability and a well- balanced property between wear rsistance and wet skid resistance, by blending two specified kinds of styrene-butadiene copolymer rubbers having different vinyl bonding ratios in the butadiene moiety.
CONSTITUTION: A styrene-butadiene copolymer (A) having a styrene content of 5W60wt% and a vinyl bonding ratio in the butadiene moiety of 35W80%, and a styrene-butadiene copolymer (B) having a styrene content of 5W40wt% and a vinyl bonding ratio in the butadiene moiety of 1W25wt%, are blended together is such a proportion as to give a weight ratio of component A to component B of 1:4W4:1. If necessary, further at least one rubbery polymer selected from natural rubber, polyisoprene and polybutadiene having a vinyl bonding ratio of 1W20%, is incorporated into the above compsn. Various formulating ingredients are added to the above rubber compsn. The mixture is molded, vulcanized and used for tire and other applications.
