Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a bathing agent, having medicinal effects, capable of imparting moistness to the skin, protecting the skin and preventing drying and further body and sweat smell, by blending chitin or chitosan with other ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A bathing agent obtained by blending chitin contained in a shell of crustaceans, such as crab or lobster, or exodermis of arthropods or chitosan which is a hydrolyzate thereof in an amount of 0.1-30wt.% as an active ingredient with other ingredients. Various effects (e.g. prevention of skin roughening, dry skin miliaria, heat rash, crack or pimple) can be obtained by dissolving the above-mentioned bathing agent in an amount of 1g in about 10-100l water in a bathtub for use. When the afore-mentioned bathing agent is used as a rinse for the hair, effects, such as prevention of dandruff, pruritus, generation of static electricity, etc., and flexibilization of the hair are expected.
