Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a hair tonic, containing elaidic acid and/or linoelaidic acid, having excellent hair tonic effects and further extremely effective in preventing dandruff and pruritus. CONSTITUTION:A hair tonic containing one or two or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of elaidic acid and linoelaidic acid. The above- mentioned compounds which are active ingredients can be used not only in the form of free acids but also as derivatives in the form of salts, such as sodium salt, or esters with an alkyl group, such as propyl. All thereof will not exhibit toxicity to human bodies. The blended amount is not especially limited; however, the content is preferably normally 0.01-10wt.% without exhibiting toxicity to human bodies. The elaidic acid and linoelaidic acid may be used alone or together and further in combination with conventional hair tonic drug effective agents.
