Abstract

1356873 Compositions comprising amino acid derivatives AJINOMOTO CO Inc and RIKAGAKU KENKYUSHO 21 Jan 1972 [23 Jan 1971 (2) 26 June 1971] 3087/72 Heading A5E A fungicidal and bactericidal composition comprises a diluent, a surface-active agent and a fungicidal amount of an active ingredient which is (1) an alkyl ester of an amino acid in which the alkyl group contains 8 to 22 carbon atoms, said amino acid being an acidic amino acid selected from amino-malonic acid, α-aminoadipic acid, α aminopimelic acid, cysteic acid, homocysteic acid and #-hydroxyglutamic acid, a basic amino acid, or a neutral amino acid, (2) an N-methyl or N-ethyl derivative of an alkyl ester of an amino acid as defined in (1), (3) an N-acyl amino acid wherein the N-acyl group is an aliphatic acyl group containing 8 to 22 carbon atoms, said amino acid being an acidic amino acid selected from aspartic acid, a-aminoadipic acid and α-aminopimelic acid, a basic amino or a neutral amino acid, (4) an alkyl ester of an N-acyl amino acid as defined in (3) wherein the alkyl group contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or (5) a salt of the compound (1), (2), (3) or (4).
